Laptops for Assistive Technology Class
The 6th grade students in the Prentice Junior High will get an amazing opportunity this school year. They will be able to take advantage of the expertise from one of our faculty members, Mr. Stanley Tom, who came to Prentice last year as our Assistive Technology specialist. While he concentrates on doing AT screenings and evaluations for Prentice students as well as the outside community, he will also be instructing these lucky 6th grade students on a variety of AT programs that exist to help students navigate curriculum when they are identified with learning differences.
The students will learn to use reading, writing, and written expression organization programs on individual laptop computers. This class is an example of our unique approach to learning.
The AT class will:
Encompass multi-sensory to the curriculum
Teach through the intellect
Contain content which will be put to practical use for current and future academic needs
