Types of Gifts
Gifts of Cash: Most donors find that a personal check, payable to The Prentice School, is the easiest way to make a gift.
Credit Card: Paying by credit card provides several potential benefits, including paying over a period of time and earning airline miles! (Visa and Mastercard are accepted.)
Pledges: Pledge gifts are encouraged for those who would like to pledge a dollar amount and then make regular monthly payments to reach their pledged goal. You may pledge monthly, quarterly or annually by check or credit card.
Matching Gifts Programs: If you work for a company with a matching gifts program, it is possible to dramatically increase the impact of your gift. Check with your human resources department.
Gifts of Tuition: You may make tuition payments on behalf of another person, such as a grandchild or friend.
Securities: When making a gift of appreciated securities, you may receive a charitable deduction for the value of the gift and save on the capital gains tax. There are also tax benefits when making a gift of depreciated securities.
Planned Gifts: A number of planned gift vehicles exists for donors. Some of these include gifts of life insurance, bequests and real estate.
Gifts in Kind: Donations of technology, equipment, furniture and other items in good condition for use at the school are welcome.
